Throughout Elior Integrated Services continued with our programme of audits against the requirements of the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems ISO14001. The business was audited over the course of 2009. These audits included a review of the businesses Environmental Management System which is typically integrated with Health and Safety and in some cases Quality Management Systems.
The audit is conducted against the clauses of ISO14001 by an external company, Marketing Quality Assurance Ltd, and includes a review of objectives and targets, evaluation of legal compliance and other requirements, evaluation of environmental aspects relevant to the business, evaluation of environmental resources and evaluation of environmental competence. Following the review of the management system a verification visit to site is included to ensure that the management system is operating effectively and environmental issues are being managed appropriately.
